Through a series of short stories, In the Beginning, Again retells key moments from the Old and New Testaments as if they were unfolding in today’s world.  Each chapter stands as a self-contained narrative.  The book removes the need for the average person to do deep theological and historical research to understand the Bible. 

 

Iconic figures like Moses, Jonah, Jesus, and Paul are placed in scenarios that reflect modern challenges, creating a bridge between ancient wisdom and contemporary experiences. Much like modern adaptations of Shakespeare, this approach makes these foundational stories vivid and relevant, and will deeply resonate with today’s audiences.  It makes the inaccessible, accessible.

The book is organized into two sections:

• The Old Testament: The first section will take the characters Moses, Jonah, Jephthah and others, and reimagine them in a 21st century context.  

• The New Testament: This section brings figures like Jesus, Peter, Paul, and Mary into present-day situations.  Each chapter will tell the modern adaptation of sections of the New Testament.
